St Pete Beach Beach FL is located at the lower tip of the Pinellas peninsula. St. Pete Beach (population 9,200) officially changed it's name from St. Petersburg Beach on April 19, 1994. St. Pete Beach is an  independent municipality.

Pictured on the right is the historic Don Ce Sar Hotel, located at the south end of St. Pete Beach. It is an area landmark with a rich history, and well worth a visit, even if you are not staying there. The Don Ce Sar Hotel is unique because it is not just a first class accommodation, but also a National Historic Landmark, currently undergoing a major renovation.

St. Pete Beach has the largest number of hotel/motel rooms of any community in Pinellas County. Located on Long Key, St. Pete Beach is connected to the mainland by Corey Causeway (free) and the Pinellas Bayway (toll). It connects to St Pete Beach Beach via the Blind Pass bridge.

St. Pete Beach offers a complete assortment of water sports: wave runners, scuba diving, fishing, parasailing etc. etc. Land-based activities include everything from a visit to the historic Fort De Soto Park, shelling trips to Shell Key, or a visit to Florida Orange Groves and Winery in South Pasadena. This winery is just one of just a handful of wineries in Florida. They have completely natural wines that are both unusual and delicious, and they offer free wine-tasting.
